Doncaster History for Schools

deeds to loanAs the website develops and the information that I add becomes more and more comprehensive, the more often I learn how local school children are using this site to complete their homework on a variety of local history themed subjects.

I find that stripping history back to its simplest form is the best way for me to absorb new material quickly. As a by-product of this writing style it appears that the articles on this site are easier to understand for the younger generation which is (I assume) why the site is so popular with schools.

If you are a teacher, particularly of KS1 and 2 pupils, and come under the jurisdiction of the Doncaster School’s umbrella, I have various localcoins to loan artifacts (particularly written documents, coins, etc) that I can loan to your school free of charge. My latest book entitled ‘The Big Book of Doncaster History’ is also available free of charge for you to keep and hopefully place in your in-school library.

If you would like further information about these hands-on teaching aids and/or would like to arrange a loan, please get in touch with me by clicking here.

I wonder does anyone have information history and pictures of Melrose School in Balby, Doncaster. I worked there in the early 1970s I can’t remember which road it was in. I have searched Google street view but can’t find it. I would love to know the history and pictures of it.
